Erin Tinney is a cellist currently living in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. She recently graduated from the University of Victoria with her Masters degree in cello performance. She is an active member of the Monarch String Quartet and has also performed with the Prince George Symphony, The Galiano Ensemble of Victoria and was principle cellist in the University of Victoria Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of the Lafayette String Quartet's chamber music program at the University of Victoria.

Working with the LSQ's string mentorship program at UVic, Erin has been connecting with many string music teachers and aspiring students in several high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in the Victoria area. Working with youth in the public school system has been an exciting and rewarding experience for Erin; discovering creative solutions to current problems and constantly learning more about music with a positive spin is an extremely valuable and meaningful way to stay connected with the musical community.

Erin has studied cello with Pamela Highbaugh-Aloni, Paula Kiffner and John Doerksen.

Other mentors have included Paul Kats, John Kadz and Shauna Rolston.
